Mr Syaf Insights is where I turn public questions into independent surveys, reports and insight pieces.
It builds on the wider purpose of this website: reflecting on technology, humanity, education, culture and the futures we are quietly building around us. While my writings often begin from lived experience, Mr Syaf Insights takes a more structured approach by using surveys, public responses and data-informed reflection to explore how people are experiencing change.
This space will include independent reports, active surveys, public findings and follow-up reflections on topics such as Generative AI, digital culture, education, work, learning and society in Brunei.
AI in Society Series
The AI in Society Series is an ongoing independent research and public insight initiative under Mr Syaf Insights. It explores how people in Brunei are experiencing, interpreting and responding to AI in everyday life, work, learning and society.
Study 01:
Published Reports

An Independent Report on Adoption, Ethics and Society
This report explores how survey respondents in Brunei are using Generative AI, and what the findings may suggest about adoption, literacy, ethics, training access, local representation and workforce readiness.
The central message of the report is: adoption is rising, but readiness depends on literacy, ethics and access.

Following the main Brunei and Generative AI report, this companion takes a closer look at one pattern in the 2025 survey data: female and male respondents were adopting Generative AI at similar rates, but described their understanding, confidence and certainty differently.
Study 02:
Active Survey

This is the second study in the AI in Society Series. It continues the wider effort to understand how people are experiencing, interpreting and responding to AI in everyday life, work, learning and society.

Future Work
More reports, surveys and insight pieces will be added here over time. The aim is to build a small public archive of independent, human-centred reflections and data-informed insights on technology, education, work, culture and society in Brunei.
